Google and locking down Android for ‘Our’ safety

Generally speaking I like to stay out of controversial topics for numerous reasons. But now that Google aspires to enforce every developer on Android, regardless as to whether they are publishing with Google Play console or not, to submit to identity documents is quite frankly an insane move. The Transcribable 1.12.x branch introoduces several features. The most significant of which is our new offline capable speech recogniser; it uses a combination of Whisper.cpp and Silero VAD to achieve this.

Introduces support for Rhea Speech Services; a self-hosted API service which provides speech-to-text and text-to-speech functionality. The Rhea Client reworks the previous browsers dependant TTS & STT functionality to demonstrate our custom solutions.
